Kinda suprised to hear that he retired.

Another legendary Defender to be added to the Bears history of great Linebackers.

  • Who's going to start the who's better discussion on Urlacher/Butkus/Singletary now. At least that's the same team in this comparison so no bias.

Wasn't he reportedly about to sign with the Vikings?

    1 Butkus
    2 Singletary
    3 Urlacher

Butkus was the best middle linebacker in history before Ray Lewis. Singletary was Defensive POY twice, All Pro six times and went to the Pro Bowl 10 times; for Urlacher it zero, four and eight, while missing more games to injury and doing less in the postseason

In his prime and healthy he was the ideal MLB who played with outstanding speed, quickness, agility, power, strength, intelligence, and instincts. IMO he belongs in the same discussion as Butkus & Lewis.
