Anyone have a complete denomination run?

3stars3stars Posts: 2,294 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just curious if anyone had a complete date / MM run of a certain denomination? Nickels seem doable short of the 1913 Liberty. Anyone attemp this feat?
Previous transactions: Wondercoin, goldman86, dmarks, Type2

You can't post something like that and not include pictures - it's just immoral.

Capped bust halves but not every variety. 1807-1839o

Whoops not every coin in the denomination.
All coins kept in bank vaults.

I don't, but IMO the easiest one to complete would be two-cent pieces.

    Reading comprehension is key.

He is talking about a full denomination run, not a particular series.

I chose to read a run of a denomination not a run of denominations. I like living in ignorance, without the burden of facts and logic problems become other peoples fault which is nice.

DIMEMAN is working on DIMES! Had he not been working on the varieties, he would have been done a long time ago. Maybe just a couple more years and he will be done?

U.S. Dimes Complete Set with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1796-present) 94.62% Complete

U.S. Dimes Complete Set with All Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1796-present) 86.4% Complete

Halves seem very straight forward starting with the Barber's, but going back further could be tricky.

okracer - the run must be huge! Must be neat to see them all in one location.

...Okay...I am terrible at pics. Taken by my Iphone...sorry. Here is my Large Cents Dansco Album. The Key dates are locked away somewhere safe. Hopefully at least a sampling of what I have. The Large Cents were the toughest and most fun. I actually was working on Sheldon Varieties for a while. I think I have about 130 varieties. Some are from collecting a long time ago. Some coins really are bad, but hey, I have all dates from the beginning of our country to now....

...I hope these pics work....they really suck....

Ditto. Though I have yet to find a 1799 I like and probably never will.

Edit to add: Killer set! Respect the completion. Not seeing much corrosion at all, just honest wear and color, no nice.
Sorry- but PVC on the '40 smack center Obc? image Perhaps a non-dried rose thorn or whatever the EAC gents do, but maybe looks terminal? The color underneath and surfaces. If the '40 is a tough date I'll be quiet.

If this counts (it does to me), I did. 1936-1942 Proof Lincoln 1c. This was after MS and PR V5C, and before Proof 10C Seated to Rossie, and then 1937-1942 Proof sets with 10C and 50C strong as I could get. All gone now image

I am close on quite a few. I do have the cents also, 1793-date. I have all the twenty cent pieces excepting the 1876-CC. Three cent silvers I need one more(1863). Two cent pieces one more (1873). Half dollars from 1802 to date-one more-(1878-S)excluding commems. Quarters I need 3 more if you don't count the 1918/17-S. Nickels I have them all, save of course the 1913!
Dollars, dimes, and half-dimes I am still far away. The early dates have just gotten too expensive-even in lower grades.

Not a date/MM set, but with the exceptions of 1796 and 97 I have a full year run of half dollars 1794--present. All mints are represented, though.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

I almost have a run in dollars 1795-present. Just missing the 1851 and the 1870-S.
