Okay people. I wanted to make this really easy so I have provided you with TWO very large sections of the coin. image
This is also quite possibly the finest example located so far. I have one example with the characteristic die cracks and a lesser example without.
Happy Tuesday!

UPDATE - I would LOVE to have one in PCGS MS67FB if anyone can find one.
This was in an ANACS MS66 Holder and this is the example I have that shows the die cracks.

This is a lower grade example that does NOT have the die cracks...harder to Cherrypick.

Good Guesses! Try for the exact date and mint, heck I will even give you a hint that it a member of the short set dates and these die cracks are a characteristic of a variety that PCGS recognizes for the Complete Variety Registry Set. Geez, I have almost given away the answer! image

Judging from those pics looks like a west coast strike, possibly early forties..

Getting very warm here...now be BOLD and name the year and mint....and the VARIETY. Then I can post the image of the full coin.

These die cracks make Cherrypicking the coin pretty easy. I have seen a couple in the wild that I have just passed on. One dealer actually had an example priced way UP, noting the cool die cracks...JUST FOR THE DIE CRACKS, LOL and he had no idea about the DDO/DDR. I didn't tell him either. I thought his pricing was obnoxious just for die cracks.
