"Lost" Sub? Updated 6/1

About a week and a half ago I did a couple of things that were firsts for me. I decided to send my first BGS sub in and shipped something using Federal Express. I have always used USPS up until this. The Fed Ex website is similar to the USPS and printing the label went smooth. I used my debit card to cover the shipping and dropped my package off at the local drop off the next morning. There is nowhere else to ship Fed Ex from here in town other than a few drop off boxes.
Like always I've been really busy lately and finally took the time to check the Beckett website this weekend to see if my order had posted as being received. It hadn't yet. That part didn't surprise me but led to my looking at my account on the Fed Ex website for label and tracking info. I immediately became worried when nothing showed up in my account. It appears as if I hadn't shipped anything. I then checked my email to see if I'd received any email info. Nothing there either.
I spent about 20-30 minutes on the phone with Fed Ex this afternoon. After giving them the info on where I dropped off the package at I went on hold as they began searching. Nothing locally.....then nothing where the Fed Ex ground would then go next. Evidently after that there is a hub and they were contacted. The hub was supposed to search and then call me back when finished. I heard nothing back today and will spend some more time with them on the phone tomorrow.
Looking back obviously I should've taken the down the tracking info from the label. I've just shipped from the USPS site so many times and like an idiot I assumed I would receive similar email/account info from Fed Ex. Whatever the tracking info is they have no record of anything being scanned even a first time. To make things even better my debit card was never even charged for the label.
Anybody ever had a similar issue with Fed Ex?

I've always sent my cards to bgs using USPS and never had any problems.
I should note that beckett doesnt typically let people know that a submission was received until they are beginning the grading process which can take a while (depending on your chosen turnaround time). I hope it works out for you, keep us posted.

I have something very similar to this happen to me. I sold some football tickets on Stubhub, printed out the label and dropped the tickets at a local Fedex box that I have used before. The package was never received. When I checked with Fedex, they said the package was never logged in when the driver picked up the packages from the box. Not only did it cost me the sale, but I also had to pay for replacements to a pretty high profile game ($$$$$).
What I learned to do when using Fedex, go to a local hub, have them scan the package in and get a receipt. Most of the drivers are contractors that do not work for Fedex. If a package comes up missing, there is no accountability. Fedex was NOT helpful or empathetic to my situation at all.
Good Luck!!!
I wasn't charged until Thursday afternoon for the shipping label but the package actually delivered on the 14th. Needless to say I'm very relieved yet I've also learned some things about how FedEx runs their business that are a bit surprising.

<< <i>Glad to hear your package turned up! That had to be nervewracking! I think you should use USPS going forward, lol.. >>
It was and yes, there's definitely been a lesson learned.
