opinions on the dugout unopened wax on ebay?

I've been considering various products from the_dugout_unopened_wax on ebay and was looking for feedback on their service and reputation. Ebay feedback seems pretty good, especially considering they sell a lot of unopened product. I like the fact that they shrink wrap their boxes with card (same as BBCE), but that's only as valuable as their reputation. They had been auctioning off a lot of items, but now have converted almost everything to higher BIN listings (perhaps a sign their supply is starting to dwindle). Thoughts? Would you buy a dugout box with as much confidence as a BBCE box?

All I know about them came from this thread. Which really is not much except they appear to
    be priced high.

I bought several boxes from them recently and had a great experience. Their prices are a little higher than BBCE, but they have a pretty good selection.

I purchased one of the 81 Topps Baseball cello boxes where the packs had been slit to remove the gum.

    Results:
packs appeared to be from different boxes
packs were loosely wrapped and did not appear to be tampered other then the slit
overall the cards were in decent shape considering 81 stock
star cards pulled: Brett (4), Schmidt (2), Yaz (2), Rose Record Breaker, Carlton Record Breaker, Reggie (2), Murphy, and a Valenzuela
Brett was on the bottom of one of the packs
Carlton was on top of one of the packs
Summary: The packs seemed to be legit but was comprised from different boxes.

Would I purchase from them again? Yes, based on this experience (my only one so far), and if the price is right. Most of their items seem to be above market, but with the dry up we are seeing, it could be the new norm. Will know more after the National.

    Thanks,

How were you able to tell that the box was pieced together?
  • Bought from him a number of times and was always happy with what I got. The cello's were box/case fresh and very clean.

I have almost pulled the trigger with them several times. I don't have the same confidence as I do with BBCE, but I can't give you a reason for that thought. I think there are a lot of questions and suspicious buyers of unopened wax, probably with good reason.

Only going by collation. Most 81 material will not yield the results I pulled other than Donruss.

Fwiw, This is no knock on DOC. The cards were in nice condition and I sent 20 of them in a sub today. I would purchase from them again.

I won an 84 Topps unopened box auction from them about three weeks ago. I was happy to see it came sealed and I'm gonna leave it that way for a few more weeks.

I agree with others that they have a lot of selection but the prices are a little higher than BBCE. However I'll purchase from them again.

I have bought 80's unopened material from them. I was happy with every aspect of the process. If you are a unopened material freak there aren't many choices out there. Auction houses,BBCE,The Dugout and a few others.Where else do you find a good selection of 80's and select 90's unopened boxes? Hopefully the re sealers and fraudsters will stay away from the 80's stuff for a while.
Interested in 60's and 70's psa and raw star and hof cards
