I think it only had a print run of 6000 sets (1990 is even more rare at 3K). Selling for $250-350 on eBay depending on condition of box/wrap. I'm not an investment adviser, but can't think it's a bad pickup at the lower end of that range (or less).
I love this set and think it has good value. They're not popping up on ebay as frequently as they did about a year ago. I think it's a good buy, but I'm just one guy.

I always shake my head as to what could have been...Same 3K Production for 1990 Bowman Tiffany Hockey I believe as well (5k print run for 1990 Topps Tiffany Hockey). They could have been the most HOF RC laden hockey sets since the early 50s and that was only due to no sets being produced for a number of years. No offense to Mr. Roenick, Modano, Recchi and Mogilny but if these sets had Jagr, Federov, Brodeur, Sundin, Bure and Lindros on top of that??!! If they were all included, then what would these low produced Tiffany sets have been worth??!! Ugh!

I've thought the same thing!!! Even so, I like both of these sets a lot and have picked up a few of each over the years when the price is right.

Well most people break the set for the Griffey, so you'll find that single probably more often than the complete set. It's too bad the 89 UD card overshadows this one. I really don't understand why since that card was at least triple printed, but maybe that will change over time. I think this set value rides solely on the Griffey card so I'd rather focus on that card than the set. Just don't see people going after the star cards for 89 Bowman any time in the future, even though it's the limited/premium, it's still from the junk era.
If you go for sets make sure it's sealed. Finding a centered Griffey is tough so opened sets might contain less desirable copies.
The prices of graded Griffey's from the '89 Bowman set have really plummeted over the years. The current PSA 10 VCP average is $1363, although the last few top amounts have sold for up to $1620 to $1650 each. Two years ago a couple of them sold for only $840 and $960 each.
About 10-11 years ago a buddy gave me his Bowman Tiffany Griffey PSA 10 to sell for him on ebay. It auctioned for $4500. I not sure if this was the peak for the card, but it might have been. When compared to the latest VCP sales for this card, the price has dropped $3000 for this card. The rising pops surely hasn't helped matters.
So is it a good investment? While the prices have risen on this card in the past two years, I wouldn't call it a safe investment as it has quite a bit of downside to it. Maybe as Griffey approaches HOF election this card will rise again.
I don't follow the set's price, so I can't comment on the value of the set rising.

Right now, for the cost of 1 Griffey PSA 10, you can probably get away with a case of Bowman Tiffany sets.
I'm firewalled, what is the case cost and how many sets per? I think in the long run , particularly with the Bowman name, it'll be the top Topps card to have. I believe the 89 Topps Traded Tiffany is limited to 15,000.
Considering that 1:20 Griffeys submitted to PSA have gotten a Gem Mint grade, and you can get a Gem Mint Griffey for ~$1500, the case would make very poor sense if your goal is to get a Gem Mint Griffey.

Assuming, say, the Griffey is slightly off center, would it be safe to say all the other cards in the same set are cut identically? Typically Tiffany cards are cut with much better precision than the regular counterpart. But I was wondering if sets tend to have consistent cut throughout a single set.
I would think all the cards from the sheet that Griffey was cut on would be OC. The remaining coud be centered, or not. As for buying a case, sure you can get a Griffey for $1500 in Gem Mint but you could possibly have 6!
