My First Bogus Bust Half

Never had much interest in these "contemporary counterfeits" 1) because of the intentions with which they were created, and 2) because I want to collect the real deal, but this one was cheap and I thought the planchet cracks were pretty neat.
I don't own Davignon's book, but I was told this is a D-1A. Does that sound right?

I think those cracks are PMD. Look at the disjointed separation of the stars, and the rim damage, reverse 10k.

Usually contemporary ones are made using crude methods and are very obvious fakes to anyone that study's the series....
Some of the modern fakes are using manufacturing methods similar to the way coins are made and are not so obvious.
