My Daughter finds 1902 IHC in her backyard!

A few days ago my Wife went down to my Daughters house and helped her put up a swing set for the grandchildren. So after working in one area for a few hours, my daughter is sitting on the ground putting pieces together, and glances over.."Look, an Indian head penny!". After a quick cleanup she sent me these images. Looks fairly well detailed.

My guess is your wife scooped up some change you had on the dresser along with this IHC you were going to soak at a later time.
It fell out of her pocket when helping your daughter with the swing set.

Really though, that is amazing!

I found a few wheats back there too...the house is from the thirties I guess but the location is high ground next to a tidal creek, somewhat navigable. There might possibly be colonial or Indian artifacts there as well. I will get the grand kids together and sweep the area with my MD and let them dig! I explained to my Wife how your average 1902 IHS was nearly worn flat from years of circulation and how this coin may have been dropped well before 1910. Ther are giving it a soak in olive oil. Dammm how come I never find cool stuff in the dirt?
