Anyone had any experience with SCD Grading?

Anyone had any experience with (SCD) Sports Collectors Digest Grading? Just curious as to how legit they are. Thanks!

this is for prewar only but probably apply across the spectrum: old flip very good, they were very strict and about .5-1 grade tougher than psa/sgc in the old days. new flip bad stay away totally different people/management.
  • Thanks! How do you tell the difference in the flips?
  • Red flips are good. Blue flips are trash.

Is Probstein123 ISA grading? I only see these ISA graded cards being sold by them.

Yes ISA seems to be the New Pro Grading and yes Probst seems to sell a lot of them in his store or via auction.

For what it's worth I don't trust the old flip of SCD grading either.

I bought five Football cards from the 1958 Topps set from an ebay seller
about 10 years ago to see for myself how SCD graded. Every card had at least
one trimmed edge, some had two trimmed edges. I kept the cards as I wasn't
going to dump them on another hobbyist to get burned. I still have them
if anyone wants to see scans of them, just let me know.

So I really don't trust either the early red label SCD version of their grading,
or the later blue label version of their grading.

Of course these were online buys only. If I could see the SCG graded cards in person,
I would know which ones were funny and which may be legit.

ISA is owned by Jason Koonce. Don't think that company has anything to do with SCD.

I think he created that grading company from scratch.

Who do you think purchased all of the equipment from Sports Collectors Digest Authentic Grading & Authentication Services (SCD red label) when they went out of business and then intentionally created confusion in the marketplace with a new completely unrelated company called Sports Cards Direct Authentic Grading & Authentication Services (SCD blue label)?
