Storing Tall boy slabs?

I know we have had the tall boy bag conversation frequently, but I recently tripled my Tallboy slab inventory and am looking for better ways to store the slabs.
The PSA store has those plastic boxes, but they only hold 9 tall boys, and the boxes they use for shipping hold about the same.

I am curious if anyone has found any nice boxes or containers for there tall boys? I am not looking to spend the ~$250 for the highend luggage type case thats always sold here.

In a perfect world, I would be able to find carboard boxes that are 5 wide x 8 tall and deep enought to hold a couple dozen slabs, so there isn't too much excess room in height or width.

Looking to have some custom cuts or plain custom cards built? PM me.

  • Do you have a Fry’s Electronics store in your area ? if so this Box
my work for you. The one I purchased was just under 7.00 with tax
but our tax here is 9.75% (not a misprint highest in the USA).

This is a very nice sturdy box that lays flat and fits in the lid when unused.
It snaps together and has a center divider which also snaps into place and will
give two long sides 5 inches wide (your perfect width).
Given the length is 13 & ¼ inches long and the width is 10 & 1/8th inches this
should allow for another row horozontaly across the back, if you cut the divider.

Would look something like this, Sorry cant realy edit it to look right but hope you get the idea

  • Now that I think about it they had other sizes and one was about half this size so there could be one with a 5 inch width ?

Smokey, I think I saw that yesterday at Target, but skipped over it for some reason. I will go back to check it out. Thanks!

  • Just checked the Snap n Store web site and they do have a box that just about fits your dimensions
its 5.125 X 8.75 BUT ONLY 3 inches high. Assuming the tall boys are 3/8 thick the box would hold 8 .

Sorry, that was the wrong link. Here is the right one for the tallboys: Tallboys

I just looked at mine and I have 37 in one and it still leaves room to look through the labels.
