Original Packaging vs Holders

I have several 1950s proof sets should I leave them in orginal packaging or place them in capital holders. Which are better for storing the coins?

from what i've seen from plastic type holders like the capital ones, is that the proof coins can start to haze something fierce. not a huge deal for silver but nickel and copper, not good at all.

not certain if it is from improper storage or leaching compounds from the holder(s)

My inclination is always leave in the original packaging unless it's damaged/cracked or the coins are loose.

You could also think of it this way: the coins have been stored in those holders since the 1950s ≈ 60 years. Do you see any issues or toning problems? If it ain't broke don't fix it
