Remove Scratches From A PCGS Slab

Does anyone have an idea on how to remove scratches from a PCGS slab preferably with a house-hold product??

    PlastX and a chammy, or an old cotton t-shirt, works well for me.

    Slab Renew ... a product specifically made for removing scratches from Coin Slabs.

    However I think it's for the most part equivalent to the other products posted and is probably more expensive at $16 a bottle.
    However it might make you feel more secure since it's been tested on coin slabs.

    On PCGS slabs, I've found PlastX to work quite well. Different story for NGC slabs image

    Same here, PlastX works great on PCGS as you can buff those to a nice shine. But I have messed up some NGC slabs as it can scratch quite badly.

    Same here, PlastX works great on PCGS as you can buff those to a nice shine. But I have messed up some NGC slabs as it can scratch quite badly. >>


    Some members on the Forums recommended I use "Novus" fine scratch remover for the NGC slabs. It definitely improved the surfaces, but took quite some work.

    I'd avoid toothpaste because it's too messy but it will leave your slab minty fresh.

    And here I thought the proper procedure was to threaten the owner of the slab! Silly me.

    (If you own the slab yourself, a bathroom mirror will aid in the threatening).
