1968 Topps Milton Bradley Nolan Ryan - 4 sharp corners

4 sharp corners has a 1968 Topps Milton Bradley listed on Ebay. The problem is that it is not a Milton Bradley, but a regular Topps issue. The white print line is not the Milton Bradley version.

That's totally unscrupulous. Thank God nobody on these boards would ever try to pass off a basic Topps issue as a Milton Bradley- it makes me feel so much better about our community here.

It'd be so shameful and show a total lack of transparency if one of our members did that. Thank goodness for the honor system in the hobby.

I'm feeling very sharp tonight. I didn't even need a sarcasm emoticon to catch that.

Is this the MB in question?
  • Crap, it's a BIN.

I was hoping to place a bid on it, only to retract it a few minutes before it ended

So you are saying PSA missed it as well? I have never heard of this card, but PSA missing it is BS if that's true.

4 Sharp Corners just feels like a huge machine that just goes and goes and goes and doesn't stop to look around. I don't think they're knowingly doing anything wrong, but have so many processors that lists stuff that don't have a clue what they're doing or looking at. They just follow what the sticker says. Not saying it's right, just the way it is...

I couldn't agree more. And really, that's what makes these boards so special- the sellers here who take the time to review their cards and make sure they're properly labeled, and don't misrepresent their product. Personally, I find that to be one of the more compelling reasons to continue visiting these boards and contributing to their viability.

i've been told by a member on another board familiar with MB that my Carew is an MB, but i just don't see it. any way to definitively know for sure besides looking for the line and off-color of the back?

I won't even consider using one of these super sellers. They employ people can't even spell PSA. I have seen everything from misleading titles to counterfeits.

The sad part is....my card looks more like a Milton Bradley than that one....go feel yourself boopitts.

Church is Cool, Milton Bradley cards are some of the hardest to distinguish. All the moaners on here who like to throw darts can't even tell the differences between one and a regular Topps card. The white line is a definitive way to tell, however, I have seen some cards labeled Milton Bradley that don't even have the white line. Good luck!
  • Let's not forget the distinct color variation of the backs, which is the method I use to pull MB's from 68 Topps en mass. The MB backs are a shade lighter.

....that you apparently learned nothing the last time we discussed Milton Bradley cards.

Any thoughts on how far the white line should be from the border of the player image? I've never been sure about this.

    Thanks in advance!

if I recall correcttly , the milton bradley should be centered the other way side to side with the white on the opposite side. the backs are bright yellow and pretty easy to identify. this card in particular withthe solid white border
