1804 c-3 half cent delisted

Probably no one but other half cent collectors will appreciate this, but PCGS finally delisted the
1804 c-3 - was just an early die state of the 1804 c-5 ( I could never have afforded it in any
event) Now if some one can convince them the 1831 is a proof issue only

Good luck with that one. The 1831 Original (C-1) is engrained in the 99-variety Cohen set, and there are too many people that have a financial interest in keeping it there.

it is a big deal to see it be official. any time one is added/removed from a series these days, imo, it is a big deal.
the 1825 n-5 that T.D. brought to light and a few other marriages being added/removed in various usa series are headline news so long as the info. is correct.
thanks for the update.

And, that's the problem......rather than do the right thing, money and connections stop it from happening......
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

And this is how many years after this was accepted by the copper community?
anyone that can/is willing to provide link(s) for reading about this would be nice.
or publications with this update.

a required coin in the Cohen registry set - leaves me painfully close to the 90 %
completion I had originally set my sights on to reach.
i wonder if EAC has recognition of the removal? Guess I need to do some digging before I cross it off my list.

A Cohen variety set consists of 99 coins, with the 1794 C-6b (up for auction in "The Missouri Cabinet" February 2014) being the only impossible stopper until someone finds another one, or this one gets bought.
1804 C-3's still bring a huge premium, even though they have been delisted. Don't hold your breath on the 1831 Original being delisted though - as commented on in my previous reply in this thread.
