Need value opinions from the PSA pack guys

Let's say you own the only graded pack with a 1970's HOF rookie on the back. The pack is graded PSA 7, but it has no rips or gum holes. It's
a very attractive 7, with good centering on the front.

The HOF rookie card value in

PSA 10 is $6,000.00
PSA 9 is $1,000.00
PSA 8 is $200.00

The rookie card in the pack is face showing on the back. So it is a wax card, but it is on the glossy front, and the wax can probably be wiped off.

I'm not looking to open it, for it's a one of a kind item.

The question is, how do I determine a value for it ? I'm not going to sell it.
Was just wondering if anyone here has an experience dealing with something like this, or has a pretty good educated guess.

Let it ride at auction or put up a BIN. There are many George Brett collectors out there.

For insurance purposes, $10K. Realistic selling price, probably $1K or less.

A PSA 7 1975 mini wax pack with Brett on back would retail for about $200, regular size 75 pack about $250.

I would value a PSA 7 pack around the PSA 8 graded card price for a rough rule of thumb.

  • I assume this is because the pack as a whole is being graded for condition, not the card. The card itself is still in a raw state.
