Mislabeled cards that become added to player Master Sets - Big thanks to Gayle and DPECK!

Has anyone else experienced this? What is the procedure for fixing this?

My example is for the Magic Johnson Master set. There is a

131 1985 PANINI SUPERSPORT MAGIC JOHNSON ITALIAN

included in the set. However, there were a few copies graded

131 1986 PANINI SUPERSPORT MAGIC JOHNSON ITALIAN .

The Larry Bird set does not have this distinction.

Based on everything I have seen over the years, I would say that the two cards are one and the same. There is no one who is currently collecting the Magic Johnson Master set that has a 1986 Panini included in their collection. Assuming this is true, how would I request to have the set changed to reflect this?

The Larry Bird set was corrected when I sold one of the top guys the 86 Panini PSA 10. He requested it I believe through the registry customer service.

This same situation just happened on the Mike Tyson set where they merged the pop report from 85 and 86 into the 85 one.

Interestingly, the Larry Bird set corrected itself to show only the 1986 Panini. For the Magic Johnsons that I have seen labeled, they show up, as does my copy, as 1985.
Do you know that 1986 is the correct year of issue?

Whichever is determined to be the correct year for the Tyson cards after all this, 1985 or 1986, or any of the cards from the supersport set for that matter, can we assume PSA is fixing the labels for free if sent in as mech. error?

My no. 153 Tyson card was recently graded, last fall, as a 1986.

On the back of the sticker there is a copyright date of 1986.

In one of the Mike Tyson threads I was able to determine the photo used for that sticker was indeed taken in 1986 as it was taken at Madison Sqaure Garden.

I have emailed the folks at set registry to see if they can resolve it.

They fixed the problem with this set within an hour of my asking.
