1989 Score Football Box rip

Hi,
I am thinking about buying a 1989 Score Football box to rip. I was wondering how successful you were on pulling the star power out of this box. Are there duplicates of B. Sanders D. Sanders T. Aikman, etc. Just wondering. Only ripped a few packs, but I think I am going for a box.
Thanks,
Jon

Been collecting on and off from 1982. Football is my favorite, although, I do like baseball. Always looking for 1984 Topps and 1989 Score Football PSA 10's.

I think the price of unopened boxes from this set are way overpriced. I think they're priced based on rarity rather than the value of the cards.
Got all the majors hit but a Deion.
It's a great box to rip!
Scott
Thanks everyone for the responses.

<< <i>Centering is a pain with this set... >>
I wondered about this. I reviewed Scott's pickup's from the recent board rip and I was impressed with the cards as well as the condition of the cards that he pulled. I guess you can't get lucky all the time. As I said in previous posts, I wanted to rip a box and submit it to see what PSA standards are. I am a newbie to the PSA grading process, so as far as centering goes, I think this would be a good test box to see if my standards and PSA standards for grading are in line. I am expecting to be disappointed on my first submission, but I have to start somewhere to get a feel for what card conditions go with what PSA grades. I am excited to get started. I have been advised to buy a cheap box and submit it, but I think I will buy something that will benefit my collecting goals or what I specifically collect. If I achieve at least one PSA 10 from my first submission, I think I will be on the right track. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I did have pretty good luck with this box (and the few packs from prior group breaks) that I've ripped. I would say a good 85% or so had 9 or better centering with just a hand full that would be below 8 centering. I would agree if shooting only for 10s the centering can be a pain as few are perfectly (or nearly so) centered, but compared to the usual Topps stuff I rip I've found these packs to be spectacular!
All the card shown in the group break thread are in my ever growing "to be submitted" pile.

<< <i>Why not just buy a barry psa 10 for 175 and put the remaining 125 in your pocket...is it really worth the chase for deion thurman thomas, and troy aikman. >>
I'm not sure if it is worth it. As stated, I am a newbie and I would like to get a feel for the PSA grading standards. If I can score a couple PSA 10, it would help me get started in my quest in completing this set in PSA 10 as well as know what to expect out of a PSA 10.
I have gone back to what I liked the most, building sets the ol'fashion way, busting boxes
building sets.I know I can buy an 84 set{fb only for me] in straight8's for what I have in my
2 hand built sets, but I sure have had fun doing it!There was a great guy here[Bigredog] who was so
helll bent on buiding the best 88 set ever, and my did he ever!! I have one of his sets here and if
thats what he didnt want, his pc set must be amazing.that was one of the starts to my change in focus, yet again.
It sounds to me like you will enjoy building your set, looking for that gem-mint10,learning some
things along the way, sounds like a great plan, and fun.Keep us updated in your quest.

<< <i>I know it's not near as fun as ripping 36 packs, but buying the complete set (with the stars graded 9) is a much better deal.

Completely agree....wax has always been pretty tough to find....bust sets not wax for the price.

I will keep everyone posted on what the end result will be. If I do break a box, I will post scans of cards to get everyones input on what I should do. I am leaning towards purchasing a box just to have a little fun with it.
Thanks again for everyones input, it is greatly appreciated.

I know what you're saying but there are other rc's worth mentioning.
Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, Tim Brown, Rod Woodson and Derick Thomas. This set is loaded and a fun rip. I bought a box years ago and got all the best rc's. Great fun!
