world coin in oscar nominated movie

Every now and then someone posts a "coins making cameos in major motion pictures" thread....and here is another one. In the 1975 Oscar-nominated classic, Barry Lyndon, there is a close shot of a 1770-75 British halfpenny (flipped to see who gets to shoot first in a duel). Yes other gold coins of the period are mentioned in that movie, but this is the only one that gets a close shot.

Good one! Great movie and scene BTW! I think that was the second Kubrick movie I ever watched. A Clockwork Orange was my first. -Dan

I also like the two silver shillings Captain Jack Sparrow paid the harbor guards in the first Pirates of Caribbean movie, unfortunately, they just showed the reverse designs of the c. 1660s to 1720s shillings and not an obverse.

The "Barry Lyndon" film coin which is flipped before a duel:

It does appear to be a Great Britain George III Half Penny of the type struck 1770 to 1775.
