Interesting analysis (I read the other thread). It makes me wonder though: Could the Mint have a quality control issue that fluctuates? For example, maybe the mintage of a coin series- say your Sacawagea- is poor for the month of March but is increased for April. The coins checked might be March's batch but better and finer coins are waiting in the pipeline?

I ordered a set of 2002 rolls from the mint, should I even bother opening them?

braddick, sure, completely possible. Also completely possible my coins were the first into the hopper when they came off the press, and got chewed up, or whatever.

I may flush some more money, er, I mean order a few more rolls, in a day or two to see if I get a different result.

I'm still putting my money where my guess is in the meantime. Only one person has taken me up on my "fabulous money-making offer". image
