Has any box ever been unjunked

See the term junk wax a lot. Has there been a junk wax box, that by through late career sudden player fame, or finding out the box was rarer than thought, that brought the box out of junk status ?

<< <i>I remember seeing ads in SCD in 1988 for 1986 Fleer basketball boxes for $9/box >>
That was back when football/basketball cards in general were not being taken very seriously. Only the most hardcore fans of those sports even bothered with those sports back then. That would of course change the next year or so (with the 1989 Score football set both upon its release and even today is looked at pretty much the same way as baseball's 1989 Upper Deck set).

you could get boxes, if the shops that had them could find them buried somewhere "out back", for $5 and under a box
now they sell for $100-$150 pretty regularly
More recently, though, I'm thinking 1991 OPC.
Can't find any racks lately
<< <i>With the realization of just how rare the No-Name Frank Thomas card is, I think 1990 Topps qualifies. >>
It was always my understand that the no name Thomas card was never packed out and only made it into a small group of vending cases that year. Has this thought been proved incorrect?

Yes it has...I personally pulled a few from packs out of a sealed case about 4 years ago. Even though my chances of striking one again are slim, I still enjoy opening any packs of 1990 Topps baseball.

Tell me about it! I had trouble enough getting 1989 and 1990. But it seems OPC in general are more limited. But no one seems as interested in 1992.

They came out of wax. I personally got two out of wax and there were a few more out of several boxes at an old show at Trolley Station in PA...
