PWCC sold an SGC 8 for 6K in Feb, a number of them sold after that but no where near the price of the PWCC auction. In fact another SGC 8 sold a weeks later for 3.9K, another 8 sold 4 weeks after that for 2.9K and a few PSA 7's a few weeks later for under 2k. Talk about volatile. At this rate that card will be under a K by the summer!

Say what?
If anyone cares to delve into it, there is a fantastic book written in 1995 by Pete Williams named 'Card Sharks'. It details the inception of Upper Deck and the subsequent rise to the top of the manufacturing market. Further, there are many footnoted subplots that point to the ownership of the company printing sheets of Griffey rookies and Dale Murphy reverse negatives (among others).
It really is a good read for anyone that collected during the hot mess of later '80s baseball cards.
I'm sure somebody has a shoebox full of these as well....

No bend advertised on these, but could be.... I still wouldn't pay that kind of money for an error that's obviously got a lot more copies available than the NNOF. If Upper Deck goes out of business, I could see the market flooded with some of these 'rare' errors/SPs, similar to Pro Set going under.

Or Collector's Edge.... the market was flooded with supposedly extremely limited inserts for years after CE went under.
