2013 Bowman....anyone ripping these?

Not sure how many I will rip. I really like the black and white box toppers if you are lucky enough to pull one.

I didn't even realize they still did Bowman; do they still focus on rookies/players not quite in the bigs like they traditionally done since 1989 or are the recent changes as to who gets put on a MLB card and who can be designated a "rookie" mean they can't do that quite so much?

Bowman still focuses on the prospects, they just change the numbering and say they're part of an "insert set" now.

I never rip any of this stuff, but I do like shopping for individual cards once the ripping has concluded.

They only have 1 Giants minor leaguer in the prospects set this year: Clayton Blackburn. If anyone pulls an auto'ed refractor of his, I'm interested.

I have 6 jumbo cases and my buddy has 9 jumbo cases. I am going to rip at least 3 of mine and he is gonna rip all 9 of his. We should be getting them all in on Thursday.

I would love to see time lapse video of that. How long do you think it will take to open is all and how do you sort it?

Very cool guys...looking forward to seeing some of the results. I'm doing one jumbo case that looks like its arriving today sometime. Looks like a couple of the big autos to chase are Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa...I also see that Puig from the Dodgers has his first card...but no auto in this series.

I'm also a big fan of Platinum and Draft...looking forward to those later on....

Couldn't wait, so I hit the weekly local show to pick up some supplies for tonight's festivities...and grabbed one Hobby Box to tide me over...not a bad start to the season. The Arcia is pretty in person...refractor auto /500....and he's already been up with the Twins this season...The Miller is to /99...

I think it's kinda odd that they're reprinting a 2 year old card with the Harper there.

I agree...Kinda like what the flagship did with the Cards Your Mom Threw Out campaign back in 2010....and having reprints of Ryan Zimmerman's 2007 Rookie.

I do like the looks of the Sapphire set though...The Aaron and Kaline look really cool.

Is the blue in the "Sapphire" set the same blue that they use for the blue refractors?

No, its lighter..kind of like a cobalt blue, rather than the deep navy blue they typically use for the other standard blue refractors.

Bowman has looked very similar in design the past 3 years it seems (to me anyway).

Just curious - are there any highly touted rookies this year? Last year I felt like Harper and Dervish were the mad rush. This year I see nothing.

Profar & Machado are in the product as true RC's with autos

And then from the prospect section...you've got autos of Correa and Buxton who people are really high on.

Going to have to go find the checklist... because I assume Bryce Harper is in the set... but dang, 2 hobby boxes and 1 jumbo box... nada

I did pull 3 Trout's, 3 Pujols, 1 Machado, 3 Bundy's & 3 Profar's... the base cards I was hoping to pull for PC grading.

5 auto hits, nothing much to speak of (I honestly have only heard of maybe 3 of the prospects I pulled)... and uck, 1 was a redemption

Not off to sort and figure out my trade list

Nothing to see here, got ahead of myself and picked up a hobby jumbo box. overall about one pack of cards, including an orange parallel Pujols 16/250 had corner damage and I got these right out of a sealed case!

Not usre if there is anything worth while here, some mini chromes, gold and blue parallels, nothing else of note. Also, what is up with the prospect game cards?
auto hits, blue refractor was nice, also, what do I do with redemption card...sell or redeem and sell?

I went to Target and found 9 racks and 4 3-pack Blisters.

I will open in a little while.
