1 new # 2 SBA MS set & 1 new #1 ( tied ) SBA Proof set

Wow !! Makes you wonder how many more of these sets are out there , just waiting to get registered , as people discover the existance of the registry. It seems like the number of sets registered hung at the 2000 mark for awhile , but now is really taking off. Any thoughts as to how many top sets will be " taken down " with new additions ?

Many, if not all. There are dozens of quality sets in each category that may never be registered.

  • I noticed a third SBA 99-P MS68 in the pop. report last week but now it looks like it was down graded? The report now shows two only MS68 again plus another MS7. I would have to think there are a number of fine sets just lurking in the winds on a lot of these sets. Its almost easier to try and keep track of the top pop coins to get an idea where you stand.

  • One reason for lots of new Registry sets is the proliferation of new type sets. I used to have one 20'th Century set, now I have 4 (including gold type) but will probably delete one of the gold type sets.

Well, I have to admit I didn't think this #2 set would be put together. I have wondered where the other Pop 2 and 3 coins were but didn't think they were owned by one person. On the other hand I am glad to see them registered in an incredible set.
As for more high SBA$ sets being registered? Not unless more highest graded SBA$ coins are graded. With the exception of the 1999's no SBA$ has been graded MS68 in 5 years, and all the early MS68's are now in registered sets.
Does anyone know the owner of this set? I would be interested in the story of how and when the set was put together.
