Received the box and will try and image these during next few days.

1623 Salzburg NGC MS-63. Lots of luster. Great look to this one in hand.

1632 Austria Hall 1/2 Taler. Very tough to find these nice and crusty. I liked the original look of it.

Wow, Zohar, those are nice pickups. I love the design of the Taler with the bishop on his throne but the color on the 1/2 is way better and more appealing in my opinion. How does original patina/mint luster affect the prices of these coins? One would think automatically that a coin in higher grade state with more mint luster would be the more attractive of the two coins, but design preferences aside, I really prefer the 1/2 Taler's look. Any thoughts?

    Thanks guys.

nicholasz219 - I do prefer original coins, preferably toned. I do find it difficult to believe a 400 year coin remaining white without some treatment. The 1623 Taler however has such sharp details preserved which makes it very attractive to me.

Zohar, I've got the same year (1632) Leopold Austrian Taler, as your Half Taler imaged earlier in this thread...

MarcMoish: In reply to your above quoted question, this 1632 Austria Leopold Taler grades NGC AU-55, and has better eye appeal than another of the same date/type in my collection graded NGC AU-58.
