    Yeah what's up with that? At least Mantle's retirement was recognized on his 1969 Topps card.

    Clemente died in the plane crash in late 1972. His 1973 Topps card was already printed by that point.
    Topps could have pulled it, but they let it go as a tribute to a great player and a great human being.
