Zohar, say it isn't so!

I was looking for some information on CoinCommunity forums when I came across something interesting... It looks like Zohar was into 8 Reales before switching to Talers!

What happened, Z? image

P.S. Do you still have that 1792? image It's one of the dates I've been looking for in AU/MS for my set.

2K you are forensic! I tried dabbling in it for the same reasons I ended up with Talers - lovely designs, history. I gave up quickly though given the breadth of varieties and expertise needed to avoid forgeries. I sold the few pieces I owned yet did enjoy it!

That was back when Zohar was a young Jedi apprentice, still learning the ways of the darkside......

Brent - I believe that is when I "met" you and was exposed to the Taler/Sede Vacante world. I must admit that Coincommunity was a nice place to start not knowing much right after offloading my basic US collection.

I'm kind of glad you didn't stick with 8 Reales, Z image

I was focused heavily on Russian roubles at the time also, so we were both testing the waters of the taler world. Interesting to see how interests change and collections morph over time. Today, I have not a single Russian piece left in my collection.
