Players with Rookie Year cards of them playing other sports.

I have always found cards of players playing other sports other than their own weird but here's a few of players who had cards made of them playing other sports the SAME year as their RC's. Can anyone think of others?

    Sort of related....

there are a few Football Hall of Famers who had Baseball Cards issued for them before they gave up playing baseball and tried the far easier sport of Football and excelling... image

    ie
Jim Thorpe (a few cards w/ NY NL)
    Greasy Neale (1921 Exhibit etc.)
Ernie Nevers (a couple Zeenut cards and a coupe cards with the StL AL team)

The 82 elway minor league card is one of my favorites.
Scans of most of my Misc rookies can be found <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.collectors.com/m...y&keyword1=Non%20major">here
  • I dont have it, but I believe Michael Jordan's White Sox card would be appropriate here.

I thought OP was looking for first cards of player not in their "normal" sport. Jordan baseball cards were in early 90's starting with 90 UD.

True, Jordan's rookie on the White Sox was sometime after his basketball career. But Ainge's basketball rookie card was fleer 86 (or star 84), while his baseball rookie was 81. But I dont think you are going to find many that have rookie cards in the same year. The Lindros card is not even real because he never played for the Blue Jays and it was just hitting practice or an exhibition game. Score had an exclusive contract with Lindros and wanted to whore him out as much as possible before other companies were able to print his face.

Apologies to the OP as this isn't quite what he asked for. It's not the same year, but current Seahawks QB Russell Wilson had a 2010 Bowman Baseball RC while he was still playing college football. Pretty cool to see how the value of that card moves if he continues his success in another sport.

I wasn't too clear... I was wondering if any other players had cards, DURING their RC season of the sport they play, cards showing them playing sports they didn't actually play. Like the Lindros and Nash rookie year cards, I just find them weird especially to do for a RC.

That said I still like where it's gone and learned about some cards I didn't know existed.
