    Using real inflation (shadowstats.com) calculations, equities are actually right about where they were in 1963. Appears to be quite obvious which is the better inflation hedge. (Que the local anti-gold committee).

    The "average" new home in 2013 is larger and has a lot more features. Two car and more
    likely a 3 car garage just as an example.

    US citizens were not allowed to own gold bullion in 1971.
