REA '52 Mantle 8.5

Just enjoying the REA catalog as usual....and I wondered what's going on in the lower right hand corner of the 8.5 Mantle's inner well...has anyone seen anything like this before?

  • The PSA logo?

Oh, is it just a reflection of the PSA logo that makes it look like it's in front of the corner of the card?
  • Yeah.

Speaking of REA, whenever I see a Boston Garter card for sale (or the current panel up for auction) I always wonder why collectors would pay 50-100K for basically a drawing of a dude in his underwear.

I think there are a collector who refers to himself as 'we' who absolutely loves these cards. I understand they have loads of money as well. Whilst I'm not an expert of the hobby, I can look up to them in awe.

I don't collect '50's cards, I only just realized how different the PSA holder is for the oversized cards. The PSA logo does actually overlay a portion of the card. That would annoy me if I collected these.

Because they are neat? Wish I had more and I love the panel of them in REA. I received a generous offer for this one a month ago but have no desire to sell it...I think they are great cards.

And on the subject of the '52 Mantle in an 8.5, another great, great card.
