OPC Vending Cases

Can anyone with experience on OPC vending share their thoughts on the quality of the cards inside? From what I can tell the cards are not boxed in smaller boxes but are all scqueezed in the case. Are the cards in decent shape?

That may be a "cut card case" you are describing. I was not aware that all OPC cases were packed in that manner, but am interested to hear what someone with knowledge of them will say. I always assumed they were packed in the standard 500 count boxes like their Topps counterparts are.

Under no circumstances should I be confused with "someone with knowledge" but I was under the impression that all OPC baseball vending cases were not individually boxed, that all the cards are loose, so to speak, in the case.

I know the '86s are boxed up like a cut card case, but I don't have any experience with any other years.

Three rows high, three rows across all stuffed into a cardboard box. Have opened a bunch with mixed results. Did an 84 recently and every card was diamond cut with a lot of dinged corners. An 83 with centering all over the map, with slightly better corners. Best hit was a psa 10 Schmidt from an 86 vending case.

Cracked 86,85 and 82 vending cases.
    Pulled 2 Ryan 10's and 8 - 9's from 1982
Condition overall was better with the 82's than the 85's

  • Thanks guys, sounds like you would want the box to be in mint shape or the cards could be garbage.
  • I have a case of 1992 OPC Baseball that was packed in 500 count boxes

Hi Reggie- There arent any distinguishing features to show in a pic, I dont have the original case box and the OPC vend pac boxes are not stamped with the year like their Topps counterparts. I had to go to my warehouse to double check what they were when I saw this post, I accuired them in a dealer buyout and initially thought they were hockey.

gaspipe had broken a 1976 cut card case on here a while ago. Most cards were pristine. While the corners were mostly mint, they seem to have a higher percentage of cards with print splotches on them. The same cards typically have the print issues throughout. I was able to screen most of those out and did very well with the grading. So you just need to be diligent and know what you're doing when submitting these cards for grading.

I have an '88 OPC Baseball cut card case here and the cards are just garbage.
Many oc's and some bad corners. Most look like 7's at best.

Years ago, well in 1989, I had a '89 OPC Hockey cut card case and the
cards were super nice. I made many mint sets from it. The Joe Sakic rookie year.
