What Tulving Doesn't tell you

Shipping on silver is 7 days after payment ,
of course they give "free overnight shipping"
you see that all over the site.
Bought 8:30 set, 5:30 am PST last monday and sent wire immediately .
If I'm lucky they will ship today.
Read their website they don't tell you anywhere on there that there's a seven Business day wait.
But I was told over the phone today.
It's because they have the lowest prices, they said.
Actually not on everything. But big minimums on everything.
Then I was told after I get my silver I might want to consider another place to deal with.
GREAT customer service lol

There are plenty of other precious metal firms that will be happy for your business.

You know APMEX may not have the best prices but I get great customer service.
Plus they shipped yesterday sometime I paid for on Thursday (Large lot)
and APMEX's price was cheaper than tulving when I bought them on Monday
I don't like Apmex but have to say that they were the only ones to hold a check for only 4 business days. And I am not the best of their customers!

Why don't you like APMEX?

Let me start by saying what I do like.
They have a great variety and I shop with them when I need something I can't find anywhere else.
They have an excellent service, packaging and ship quickly.
Though, their shipping charges are outrageous and their prices (at least for what I usually buy) are way - I mean way - over their competitors.
i.e. 2013 1/4 AGE
- Apmex $402 (+$19.95 shipping)
- Provident $389 (+$8.95 shipping)
- Goldmart $393 (+$11.95 shipping)
- Goldeneaglecoins $396 (+$9.95 shipping)
OPA mentioned that when you reach a certain cap you get the flat rate shipping, though I don't know how much it is and I won't probably ever get there.
I've also been able to get the absolute best prices from them, but a few years ago they stopped trying to accomodate smaller quantity buyers.
They still have the best prices. I don't know about their current customer relations or service. I still refer to their site as a reference for competitive pricing.
Apmex's prices have always been higher than most, but their service has always been pretty good.
I still like Silvertowne or Scotsmans if I need liquidity or if I can wait a little while. They are both viable and will be around when you need them.

I knew it would happen.

IIRC APMEX shipping maxes out at $25.
What are the U.S. shipping, handling and insurance charges?
$12.95 (USD) for orders of $50.00 - $249.99 (USD)
$19.95 (USD) for orders of $250.00 - $999.99 (USD)
$24.95 (USD) for orders of $1000.00 - $24999.99 (USD)
Free for orders of $25,000 (USD) and over

I guess they are trying to say that we need them more than they need us. Or at least some of us.
ordered from three different companies on Monday last week
Tulving 50-10oz in stock bars paid Monday morning wire, shipped just now(got email)
Goldmart 5-100 OZ in stock bars, paid Tueday Morning wire, didn't even acknowledge payment till yesterday, no ship yet.
Apmex 640 - 1oz in stock bars, paid Thursday , shipped yesterday
edit free shipping on all over them
Prices
so actually APMEX was best for what I got too
tulving .99 over spot
Goldmart .69 over spot
Apmex .89 over spot

Some folks are no doubt still bitter over their handling of the hockey pucks a few years back.

People should be bitter at their own handling of the hockey pucks what were they up to anyway? $1000 bucks ? Seriously

IIRC it had to do with handpicking out the nicest ones for grading and pawning off the dreck onto regular customers.

Don't forget that originally Apmex gouged the price of the sets @ $1345, IIRC, and delivered some right before Xmas, then the mint stepped in and controlled the price of the sets, causing even more mayhem.
Apmex responded by not shipping again until five months later after having the sets still in their possession graded, buying up stock where the could so that Apmex could sell their high grade pucks and send customers crappy ones.
And the mint was OK with that.
Yup. I'm still ticked off. I got an "A" box from Apmex. Dregs.

Agree, APMEX screwed a lot of customers then and I personally will never purchase from them again.
They showed their true colors in the ATB fiasco.

As with most things tho, people have short memories.

<< <i>ordered monster boxes from dbscoins last week on Wed. 4/17, paid immediately by wire. Got a call from dbs this Wed. appologizing for shipping delay, said they were swamped. Got email Thurs. that they shipped. Tracking shows delivery for today (Friday). They will be getting all of my bulk purchases from now on. >>
