Effect of mech error on population report

Ever wonder just how many mech errors that have been made, whether in turn sent back to PSA to fix the label or not, are out there resulting in mistakes on the population report? I'm sure the total percentage is relatively negligible, but I've noticed some mistakes that reduce the confidence in the pop report overall a little bit.
For example, I've got some 1960's OPC that were mech err'd as Topps on the label. I sent them back to PSA to get fixed but I don't always see that the pop report reflects the switch. Additionally, here are a couple more examples that I've noticed even though the cards are not mine:
There is a card on the population report incorrectly listed as:
European/Foreign Cards 1926 Jasmatzi Deutscher Sport 74 Schmeling V. Paolino
This card is the parallel/variant version of the correctly listed on the population report and Set Registry as:
European/Foreign Cards 1932 Bulgaria Deutscher Sport 74 Schmeling V. Paolino
The issue year for the Bulgaria verson is correct at 1932. It would be important to edit the population report to indicate the correct year, 1932 instead of 1926, before it becomes part of the Set Registry.
Another easy one to spot is an incorrect pop report for 1965 O-Pee-Chee Baseball PSA/DNA that has card number 570 Claude Osteen listed even though the set only has 283 cards (that is surely an error where the PSA label should say Topps instead of O-Pee-Chee).
Based on these, I am just wondering how many more there are out there.
I think the answer is found in that line from Pirates of the Carribbean, "And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules."
