I'm not kidding, but it seems like EVERYTHING is going up, I got nothing at the recent Huggins and Scott Auction and most of my bids at other ones are getting annihilated as well...plus i've been selling my inventory on eBay really fast. One of the sets i collect, 1973 topps (PSA 8), i used to be able to get commons 8's for under 3 bucks, now they push 5 more often, as an example

Very interesting about the 1973 set, I hope some others can give similar comparisons.

  • This is not a set by year per say, but I collect post-war HOFers and I know I am having to pay more for them as a whole lately. Seems like everything in the 70's are going for more right now, the 50's & 60's seem to have gone up a lot in the past 2 years. My VCP collection is always slowing going up also.

I usually buy a lot of football in the off-season when the prices usually drop about 30-40%. So far I have not seen the drop this year. Players like Luck and R. Wilson seem to be selling just as well if not better than when the season ended.

Rare back t206's are absurd right now. I've seen auctions with crap scans explode because buyers think they've found a rare tint. Now is also the time to sell t206 print errors. Off focus, Missing Ink, Sheet Transfers, you name it. The smallest abnormality can double or triple a card's hammer price if they think it is factory related.

I'd say that late 19th century baseball-related items have been spiking as well. Postcards, CDV... card collectors have pushed prices up for non-card items that are related to, but not exactly "cards".
Successful transactions with: thedutymon, tsalems1, davidpuddy, probstein123, lodibrewfan, gododgersfan, dialj, jwgators, copperjj, larryp, hookem, boopotts, crimsontider, rogermnj, swartz1, Counselor

Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

It's funny that you mention 1993 Finest. I was just over at Burbank Sportscards today and they must have picked up a case in a deal. They had individual boxes on sale. I was stunned. Never seen them before. Expensive though.

Decent grade sets of 1974 Topps basketball are becoming very tough to find. The last few near mint sets on e-bay sold for $300+. There are currently NONE available on e-bay. Think about that...NO 1974 Topps basketball sets available. By contrast, there are currently 24 1974 Topps baseball sets available on e-bay.

...by the way, nobody else seems to have 1974 Topps basketball sets either...none at BBCE, none at Dave&Adams, none even at Fritsch!
