This is why I won't leave negative feedback under any circumstance.

It is just not worth it.

I wonder how much truth there is to this story. As far as I know the buyer can not remove the feedback without going through Ebay with a good reason for the removal.

  • If this maneuver ends up completely blowing up in the seller's face, the seller got precisely what they deserved.

Reminds me of the story a few years ago where the seller left positive feedback but made negative remarks in the description box causing the buyer (who had changed his mind about his bid & waited to pay only after a dispute was filed two weeks after the auctions closing) "emotional distress" & "irreversible character damage" and deciding to sue. Seller was forced to fly from Seattle to Ohio for 4 straight days in a court room going back & forth before the judge heard enough and ordered the seller to pay $27 for some anxiety prescription pills the buyer was taking.
  • I think under special circumstances a buyer can remove feedback, but not change feedback.

A good reason is not needed if the buyer wants to change a neg he left to a positive.

Ebay's stock is down 6% today.

The long shareholders are suing ebay for losing them money. Happens all the time.
  • In the followup article, it says how the owner of Med Express has apologized and is trying to drop the suit. Only that his company sued 2 other people on the same day for leaving negative feedback on eBay, so apparently he's only sorry for being caught. I hope the legal system takes this into account and they rake him over the coals for his ruthless business practices.
