I never see them look like this too often, this one is mostly red and very lustrous. I'll probably get this one slabbed.

Thanks for the props and replies all! Jim, what grade did you get on the half-sister? I'm guessing 64 RD. Mine is mostly RD, but there's probably enough BN in there to go RB for mine.

Good guess. The 1862 ½d is a MS64RD.

Well, I submitted that penny to PCGS at the New Orleans show and got the finest known!

27770617 202480 1862 1D Gr. Britain MS66RD

I'm not sure what something like would be valued, but I think it's pretty cool.
