Question about qualifiers and how they effect price

I have a question for all of you. If I have a chance to buy a vintage baseball card and its graded a PSA 8 (OC) and the PSA 8 book price is $325 what do you estimate a fair price would be? Would it drop to a PSA 7 price? Maybe a PSA 6? Sorry to be vague. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

personally, it depends what the card looks like. mild o/c sometimes I'd be more in inline with a 7 price...bad o/c closer to mc and I'm hesitant to give even 6 money.

  • It's a mild to moderate (OC) not bad at all. They are asking the PSA 6 book price of $80.
  • Sounds about right. I always go two grades lower.

I would say, in general, that the "PSA 6" price would be in line with FMV.

In some cases 2 graded lower is still not low enough.

Like others said: depends on card.

If its a card that is notoriously oc then it won't be priced like down to a 5.

VCP has pricing on NQ cards.

post card I'll look it up for u.

They also have prices on PSA Qualified cards. Bring up the particular card that you want, and then scroll to the bottom. They have listings for Autographed, 1Q, 1.5Q, 2Q, 3Q, 4Q, 5Q, 6Q, 7Q, 8Q, and 9Q. No 10Q (yet).

    Thanks
