(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)

Apmex is also charging an outrageous premium on the lovely maples.
Good luck trying to get the real stuff at anywhere near "spot".

Early on most sites had decent prices but they are now all gouging plus spot.

But when asked what they pay for them...spot of course.
<< <i>I called the local B&M yesterday because they always tell me ASEs are sold at $4 over spot. Not yesterday. He said $30 each and they're selling fast. Whether they were selling fast or not is unknown but they were no longer $4 over face because of the sudden fall.

Really disgusting, similar to all the ammo companies that have been marking up everything.

I don't think anyone would actually sell their silver at spot then immediately buy it back at a 30% premium.
I like to ask about both sides in case there is an opportunity for me. I didn't buy from or sell to them. I was merely kicking the tires out of curiousity.
Whether you can order from a stated item/price and it hold while they are in transition of updating I don't know. But if it rings up
then they should be obligated as much as a mis-marked price at Walmart.
But I guess if you are fast, place the order, and submit it, then I would think they have to honor it. Likely if a small discrepancy,
it would go unnoticed anyway. The buying-back deal seems like it requires intervention so would be noticed.
Now if there is something you want, or odd, or rare, and its still a better than usual price overall, and its a good deal for
you even w/high premium, then why not. Usually the price swing back up is fast and its easy to miss the deal that you may be sorry for later.
Like I wouldn't buy a higher premium ATB 5oz'er. But the overall deal may be better now if I wanted some for my collection.
For me, what I don't like about Apmex is their pricing tier. What the heck is it to them if you buy 5 or 21 really, and have to pay
top price for the 5? They have a lot of customers they buy this or that under 10 or 20 pieces and they should get the same price
as the 20-99 range. Which is why they get less of my business than they could.
For every possible Apmex buy now, I do a quick compare to Monarch, Goldmart, etc. before buying from Apmex.
(Not Provident, obviously, dah Lana.....)
Premiums increase as spot prices fall through the floor from the naked shorts being placed Friday and into Monday.

<< <i>Sounds like fall 2008 when silver was @ $9 and the cheapest silver went for $13+. >>
Remember that well. Generic 90% should have been 6.5X face and it was tough to find any under 10X. I do remember buying a $100 face bag for $930 or so. That was the best I did in '08.
