Went in to catch the falling knife today and this is a store with a normally large inventory. They were nearly cleaned out of silver and a guy next to me was buying 8 or 10 100oz Engelhard bars. I managed to pick up the 2 10oz Engelhard stamped bars for $259 each. I've been going there for over 6 years and have never seen them cleaned out of silver before.
Another oddity is when I paid cash I was given change and received a 1965 Quarter from a SMS with a nice mirror finish and looked at the nickel and it was a BU 1939-s. It has a weak strike on the back but still was shocked to get it in change. I'll take that for 5 cents any day.
The dealer told me he had a line waiting when he came to open this morning. They had plenty of gold left.
