Finally - after 60 days of patience - Poppage!!! NOW WITH SCANS!

I am a little disappointed in some of the grades. I thought the Marino would have gotten a 10, but I am happy with a 9. The Rice I was shooting for a 9. But maybe thats too much of an expectation. I am stoked about the Puckett!!! And the 84 LT is a nice surprise!! I dont remember sending the Don Stanhouse. lol Its been so long! One last edit - Most of these were pulled from the Group Rips here via BBCE and Cincilegs.

  • Very nice....I like the selection of cards!
  • Very nice overall I thought. Heres an idea. Sell your 8 and 9's that you are willing to part with along with the Marino 9 in order to recoup and just purchase a 10. It will be a nice addition to your collection overall. That way you hopefully wont have to put much down or anything for that matter.

  • Thanks guys. Yes, Foo, that might be a way to go. I guess the Payton might have to get re-subbed. But I believe it was off center a little and probably wont get more than an 8 given the Rice and Young results. So I may not bother.

Yes, and I know why it was 60 days. I had submitted a batch nearly 2 weeks after and recieved it 2 weeks earlier. According to the lady on the phone, if you mark the box on the outside, such as "April Special" or "Regular", it will get sorted faster and get graded within time frame or faster. If its just shipped, they don't know what to do with it until they open it and so it has a longer progression to go through.
  • How long, normally, from the time the results come in to the time they ship out?
  • If the results came out Monday. You should get your package by Thursday or Friday the latest.

Great. My last results came unexpectedly in the mail, and so I thought this would have gotten here today. I am only an hour south of PSA, so it wont take longer than 24 hours once shipped.
  • Here are the scans of the recent results. I have some questions that maybe some of you can answer for me in regards to the card=grade.

My first question is in regards to the 1979 Pete Redfern. Can anyone tell what kept it out of a 10 holder? It looks really nice. I dont see any print defects or surface problems.

Second question: The 1979 Batting Leaders. I guess there is some print defects. Black specks running along the bottom. Is that enough to bring it to a 7? Otherwise it looks very well centered with no fish eyes or anything noticeable.

Third is the 1976 Football Glenn Doughtery. Again, it looks like a great card. There does seem to be some sort of surface issue on the right edge that I dont think the scan picks up. Is that enough to reduce it to a 7 as well?

    Thanks for any info!

Those are some nice looking cards. I sure hope I get a different grader. I don't see how the Glenn Doughty is a 7? You did get a couple of really great 10s though.

Thanks! Despite my initial reaction, I am a bit more pleased with the results. I agree. I am not entirely certain about the Doughty either. I am, however, surprised both of those UD Murphy's got 9's. One looks closer to an 8 IMO.
  • that really IS a nice looking Puckett!

  • Very nice Puckett indeed. I've gotta admit, that Taylor being a 10 was a gift from PSA.

LOL. Perhaps it is. I think there were a few gifts in here. I think if you look closer to the first Dale Murphy (on the left side), it is not squarely centered compared to the one on the right, yet brought a 9. The top right corner I was a little concerned with. But maybe it was late in the evening when he graded these and eyes were shoddy. But you have a clue about the Redfern? What kept that from getting a 10? I am all for the belief that these are well deserved grades. But I just want to fine tune my eye is basically it and getting feedback helps that.

But I do like that Puckett as well. The color scheme is really nice all around and the card is just classic.

    Anthony,

Love the poppage and really love the hockey. You can't go wrong with the Puckett 10 or the Marino 9. Also love the fact that alot of the cards came from the breaks. Great job.

It is a great feeling pulling them from packs and personally subbing them. You got more 84's in the next rip. I have not pulled an Elway yet. So perhaps this time around.
