Does VCP have a grudge against Ken Holtzman? - VCP FAILING

For all the guys that think VCP is the final say in pricing, I just want you to know that they are VERY PRONE TO MISTAKES.

Keep in mind I am only highlighting only one player, from only one year, in only one grade. All auctions, not buy it nows.

1968 Topps #60 Ken Holtzman PSA 9 ended 1/15/2013 not recorded by VCP

1968 Topps #60 Ken Holtzman PSA 9 ended 1/20/2013 not recorded by VCP

1968 Topps #60 Ken Holtzman PSA 9 ended 3/31/2013 not recorded by VCP

1968 Topps #60 Ken Holtzman PSA 9 ended 4/13/2013 not recorded by VCP

Remember, thats just ONE PLAYER from ONE YEAR in ONE GRADE.

Do you really think their incompetence is limited to just 1968 Ken Holtzman cards in PSA 9? I sure don't.

Edited to fix links.

My guess would be no grudge but bad code, or the feed from Ebay is weak. There are tons of sales missing from hockey cards I follow.

That said I find it really valuable and it's the first place I go before placing a bid. VCP + Ebay sold listing + Pop Report = good formula for buying graded cards.

I'm doing good Doug, thanks. Links should be fine now.
  • Nick,

I don't know if VCP has something against Ken Holtzman, but I know Billy Martin did when he was managing the Yankees.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

Got this email from Bobby the other day after I inquired about the 15+ missing 1990 Fleer Michael Jordan PSA 10's

Sorry for the delay been in the middle of moving to a new cloud server
and fixing all the problems that occurred in the transfer. I am at fault
with the 90's basketball and way behind in my entry there and will try
and get started on it very soon.

    Regards,

    Bobby
    VCP

    To which MrVintage replied:
I have told him several times about the 90 score supplemental Emmitt Smith PSA 10 rookie card not being tracked because the current VCP is about $40-$50 under what they have been selling for on Ebay for months and he said he would take care of it. That was about 2-3 months ago and nothing has changed........

Now with this I am really starting to wonder how far behind everything is and will it ever get caught up? If so, when?
  • Nick,

Thanks for reporting the problem and after looking into it the data is
there it just got stuck in the wrong data table. We think it happened
when we switched servers so it should be an easy fix.

    Bobby,
I have noticed several instances where a PSA 9oc sale was injected into the PSA9 price history thus reducing the perceived average sale. What is the best process for me to follow to alert you to this issue?

  • Yes qualifiers are a major pain for us and we try our best
to catch them but some do fall through the cracks.

If you can on every page on the bottom right is a button "Report a Problem"
click on this and then tell us the error. This way we get the message and it
contains a link to the page in question and makes it faster and easier to fix.
