ISA fees

I was aware that your credit card charges a ISA fee to exchange currency (like that is hard to do electronically !!!)

however I just purchased a card from a fav seller and was charged 10.50 for a purchase via paypal.

That has never happened to me before on any canadian purchase.

Is this new to PP?

qustion #2 should sellers dissclose this in the item description or s/h section?

This has happened to me too. I don't normally buy from our neighbors up north
too often so I thought this was just the way it always was with the fee's.

Not sure if the sellers from Canada even know this occurs, so they would
    never disclose it.
  • It's the first I have heard of it. I sell in US dollars so there should be no exchange fee.
I would ask the seller to send a bill in US dollars.
  • I just did some reading and this is a new fee started in April. It is .8% and was introduced by VISA.
I don't think the other credit card companies or PayPal are doing it yet.
