Help, Question, Ethics, Advice !!!!

Afternoon,

Picked these up for cheap because they are so blatently originally miscut. They are 1953 Space Patrol Rice & Wheat Chex breakfast cereal inserts. They have a fairly rabid following and if they were in a PSA NM 7 to NM-MT 8 holder they would be a $50-$100 item each.

The question is, obviously they are so Over Miscut that there is a lot of extra left in the top and bottom angles, enough that they can be cut and still be larger than a normal one. If they can be cut off and squared up and there is still plenty (If not still extra) to fit in the footprint of one cut correctly, is this trimming ? ? ? Would it be OK in this case? ? ? Would PSA necessarily see this, and if they don't, is it trimmed? ? ? Does a Bear sh$$t in the woods ?image

These really are beauties and its a shame to see them as basically worthless...who here thinks they could cut them? I'm too old and don't have the skills to be doing something like this.

Here they are:

Any and all opinions are welcome!!!!

Thanks

Neil

Doesn't one of the other TPG's grade "sheet cut" cards?

very cool cards but no...dont trim/cut them. They likely would grade trimmed because of the edge not size and you risk really messing them up.

the original cut is a machine cut ('diamond cut')
if you alter it by recuting it, its then an altered card and should NOT get a # grade

but you may (easily) fool a few down the road ..... the grader and thus the next owner if you resell, especially someone who trust PSA graders lol ... to get it right (ie the card is unaltered)

it would be different if the card were NOT machine cut (ie a strip card)
  • Maybe stick to selling untrimmed nazi cards
