For all the graded set collectors out there...

Do you use the registry for all your sets? Just wondering because a lot of graded commons seem to sell on ebay but never show up on the registry.
Are there some secret set builders that like to register their set once they have 100% or just keep it to themselves and avoid the drug.

I know I'm guilty of hiding some of my set details when I feel that sellers are jacking their BIN prices on me for a few commons that would be worth very little otherwise.
I don't mind collectors knowing what I have but it gives an advantage to a seller to know that I really want a certain common to finish a set.

I'm working on my first registry set right now, and I'm at 54% complete. Part of it is that I just haven't had the time to sit down and list it yet as I'm on-call with my job and it takes a ton of my time. The other aspect of it, as you stated, was fear that sellers would jack up the BIN's based on who needs what, but it seems to me that sellers like 4 Sharp Corners have set prices based on what the pop's are. Iv'e seen quite a few commons with the same pop's being asked for the same price. I know lately, I've started venturing out and buying unopened material for this set just to try something new and possibly do some self-submissions. Another reason I guess I just wanted to create a splash when I listed the set image I want to sit down and do it the right way with scans, comments etc. One of these days.....

I have reason to suspect that at least 1 large Ebay seller monitors publically viewable sets before they determine their BIN prices. I'm perfectly fine with sellers basing their prices on available Pop Report information, but I don't like it that if I have a hole in my set, that a seller notices that and thus their card is 2-3x what it normally otherwise would be.
Successful transactions with: thedutymon, tsalems1, davidpuddy, probstein123, lodibrewfan, gododgersfan, dialj, jwgators, copperjj, larryp, hookem, boopotts, crimsontider, rogermnj, swartz1, Counselor

Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

I've noticed that too. Or they (same seller) a card as pop 1 or low pop, then they will come up with multiple copies after I have paid the low pop price.

So why not just configure your registry sets to be non-viewable so that the BIN setters cant see which cards you need?
