Which ball to complete my collection

Picked up a Mantle, Mays, Ted williams and Aaron signed baseballs but need one more to add to complete my collection. I recently bought a 5 ball glass display so I've been trying to decide between a Joe D or Koufax ball. Looking to spend under $400

  • You have 4 outfielders so far so I'd stick with Joe D.

Gotta go Joe D. Koufax will look out of place. Maybe buy another 5 ball and include just pitchers?

Good idea, I might have to do that. Seems like all the dimaggio balls are going for $400+

Joe D is nice... but why not save yourself a couple hundred... and round that fine collection out with a Stan Musial ball???

Stan Musial would be a good choice, and he's less expensive than DiMaggio.

Musial, Dimaggio or Snider all work

musial is a very good choice.
sucks he is probably at a premium right now.

I would go with joe d for sure

that would be a who's who in baseballs collection.

then get a bigger display case.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say Koufax.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

  • I would go with Bob Clemente to round out that 5 but thats just me. No disrespect to Joe Dimaggio but he would seem a little out of place in that group with Mantle, Mays, Aaron only because they all started out in the 50s. Even Teddy Ballgame would be a bit out of place but at least he would have played in that entire decade if not for military service. Any of the choices mentioned would be a great addition, just thought I would throw my hat in the ring!
I collect vintage PSA graded SF Giants, Willie Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, Marichal and Perry. And modern players like Buster Posey, Will Clark and Barry Bonds.

An authentic Clemente ball would be difficult enough to find. But more importantly, I highly suspect that such a ball would look drastically different (and therefore out of place) than the other balls in question, which I imagine are mostly pristine white. >>

Yeah, there is one Clemente single signed ball on ebay right now and they want $25,000. Not exactly an easy signed ball to find.

I would go with Joe D or Musial if you want to go a cheaper route.

I would go with a Musial. He was much better than Joe D.
