ANOTHER eBayer to block

kidd_ross2011

A couple of weeks ago I asked you guys what was the best way to send an item to Canada so I would be protected in case of a dispute. In my auction I stated shipping to USA only. A guy from Canada purchased a $30.00 item from me and I sent him an email stating I would honor his bid, but the shipping would be about $25.00. After speaking with you guys I found out I could send it for about $8.00. I sent another email to the buyer and told him about this option, but also said it would take a little longer for him to receive the item.

After receiving NO response to my 3-4 emails, I sent another email to this character telling him if he did not want to pay for the shipping to please contact eBay and cancel the transaction. In total I sent about 6 emails to him with no response. On the 8th day a dispute was opened and he never responded to that either. Amazing how some people do business.

I don't even bother sending emails anymore. One reminder in a week or so and then file an NPB after two. At least you'll get your FVF back.

4 days? That seems too quick, imo..

  • I learned a long time ago never to offer options when it comes to shipping. Have the means you want to ship it so it gets there in the safest and best way. If you offer choices, people get picky. Needless to say, one price and there is no debate.
  • Between the sale and 4 days they get two automated reminders. If they don't pay I open a claim. IMO that is more than enough time to pay. I do make exceptions with people who contact me asking for more time but if I don't hear anything I really have no choice but to open after four days.
  • I always wonder to myself "Why even bid if you do not really want the card?" All you are doing is causing trouble to a seller and being a pain to other bidders as well. I guess some people just have a lot more time in their lives to waste than what I do.

I pay within seconds of winning any auction, imagine that concept.

Not me, I pay the next day. Paying within a few seconds is too fast.

I can't pay that fast sometimes. On weekends I am usually not near my computer, so I can only use my phone. For some reason, it won't allow me to pay for any auctions in which multiple items are involved with combined shipping. So, those sellers have to wait until Monday. But, as a seller, I wait a few days and send ONE reminder. If I don't hear back within 2-3 days, I file NPB. I don't want to waste my time. I figure the buyers that jerk me around to pay are the same ones that will give me poor feedback or claim they didn't get their items.

  • Bad buyers on ebay seem to increase by the year. Because they know they can get away with it. Ebay does nothing.
  • I use the automatic NPD set at 8 days. If they haven't paid by then, they never will.
4 days is too quick as some buyers watch what else you may list to add to their order and get a break on shipping.

Your better off just getting your fees back and relisting the card. Blessing in disguise.
