Did anyone else notice the drop in '64 Giants Koufax PSA 9?

Last week, the population report showed that there were 10 1964 Topps Giants Sandy Koufax cards which graded PSA 9 (the highest grade available), which was an increase of one from the previous week. This week, it is again showing the population as being nine PSA 9 Koufax cards. Wondering what happened?

I told PSA that I thought my Koufax 9 really deserved a 10. They disagreed so I tore it up. Hence it dropped to only nine of them.

Do you see what your socialist organization drives me to do?

Is it possible that PSA had to buy back one of the 9s? Under what other circumstance would a POP number be reduced? Just brainstorming...

  • Gemmint - If that was your PSA 9, then I am very happy to hear that. Any '64 Topps Giants that is out of your hands, especially one of high grade, is definitely a good thing, even if it is taken completely out of circulation. It would have probably been a good idea if you were to send it to someone to remove the card from circulation for you, such as Wayne8348 or my organization would be happy to take possession of it. As far as my organization. . . well, I am glad that it is doing good work and don't worry, there is more to come image)

1965topps - I was thinking the same thing, but if that were the case, would it have happened within a week. I thought that may be a short period of time to sort something like that out.

I agree pinhigh, I just can't come up with anything else that doesn't border on Oliver Stone silliness. I am sure there is a reasonable explanation, just can't think of what it isimage

The population report often has processing and/or other errors that are eventually discovered and corrected.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
