Anyone know Dave Yoken a/k/a OldTimeRelics on Ebay? I do, & he's a good man.

Won a set he was auctioning last week. I paid and have been expecting delivery this week. When nothing arrived in the mail today, I checked the tracking number and the set was delivered to an address yesterday..........wait for it............in another state.

I want very badly to believe this was an accident. It was!

UPDATE: Shipping snafu due to ebay. One of the good guys in the hobby.

    What did he say?
Any insurance? Good thing is Im sure you are safe sence its on ebay. The seller though I would think might be freaking out.

    No response yet.

No need for the seller to freak out if the set went to a "friend's" address. Sneaky way to unwind the transaction, etc

And if it was done unintentionally, that's just comically stupid.

I've known Dave for years, he's a good guy and very diligent. No matter what happens, he will make good, he's a stand up guy.

I'd try waiting for a response before maligning him on a message board.

I wouldn't assume anything nefarious or "sneaky" on the seller's part either.

People do make mistakes. And if you're shipping a number of packages at the same time, an error like this one is not so far-fetched, imo.

If Anthony can vouch for him, I wouldn't worry, either.

Dave is indeed a stand up guy. The package has been located and is en route to me. It was not in any way Dave's fault.

Great guy - will explain details soon. Thanks for responses guys!

Dave is definitely one of the good guys. Not just on ebay or on these boards, but in person. I question a lot of people's integrity on these boards, but Dave will NEVER be one of them. I feel privileged to know him.

Hope this works out for both of you.

Pretty bold accusations in your post "No need for the seller to freak out if the set went to a "friend's" address. Sneaky way to unwind the transaction, etc".

How did it end up in another state? How was it ebay's fault?
  • ReggieClevelandReggieCleveland Posts: 3,818 ✭✭✭✭✭
Yeah, what DID happen? If ebay is screwing up shipping addresses that's something I'd definitely like to know about.
