Has anyone ever seen a series 3 card with the 1989 copy write date on the back. I've seen a couple ultimate warrior cards but they all have 1990 only on the back. According to wrestling trading cards.com there should be 2 variations of the card. I used to have the Zeus card which is only in the 89 variation but don't remember seeing 1989 on the back

I really like these cards and the blue back is nice too. The website where I purchased the 1992 WCW Topps sets were responsible for some of these making their way to the US as both Eagles and the seller of the PSA 7 Warrior got their's from the site.
What was great about Zues when he worked in the WWF was he was bigger then Hogan and you really thought he could win. I am not sure if Tiny Lister does signings but what a great collectable a signed one would be.
I know board member JWeiston has a signed Warrior in a red flip that is an 8 and that is a sweet card for sure.
How much do those two cards typically sell for?
I got both of these for $100. The seller never took down the Zues card so I am not sure if he has more. I might of paid to much but I don't care. If I have been looking for a card for a long time and it is not a crazy price I just grab it. These are in pretty good condition and that obviously played a role in my willingness to pay what I did.

There are quite a few others signing at the same time too.
The first is the short print Demolition card from the second version of Series III. They had a short run but were very popular when I was a kid in the WWF.
The next is Rick Martel. I loved this gimmick and thought he was awesome. I naturally got a few All Stars signed and he inscribed AWA Champ and I also got some 1995 WWF Magazine cards with him and Razor Ramon signed. Those came out very cool.
<< <i>Great card. Is it really the 89-90 version? I had the 90 version in an 8 but labeled 89-90. I finally tracked down the 89-90 but it's only a psa 3 >>
Yes it is.
I pulled the trigger on this box last night.
It is the Series II which is probably the least desirable but this is still a very cool box.
In over five years of collecting wrestling cards I have never seen one.
I read on a listing tonight that the packs have three cards and a piece of gum. I plan to open one and see how things go.
If they look good I will be opening them all.
<< <i>Nice find. The box definitely has ware. >>
This seller has had lots of rare items over the past year.
I am concerned about the impact of the gum.
There are said to be only three cards in a pack here and if gum is a problem you could reduce your potentially good cards by a 1/3.
If the packs are banged up you are dead in the water.
Hopefully they are nice and I can open them all up and look for sharp cards.
<< <i>I hope the cards are alright box looks like it was dropped from the fifth floor window of the empire state bldg. >>
That was a good one.
He says they are new in the listing. We shall see.
The pricing strategy is all over the place and sometimes items go for extreme amounts.
Check out this listing. I looked and there was feedback left by the winning bidder.
Generally a $75 to $125 item.

One of the three cards were indeed ruined by the gum as expected.
I did manage to get a few sharp cards and I can tell you this set will be impossible to complete in high grade. I had the chance to email with a seller last night from New Zealand that said they had not seen a box since they came out in 1989.
The reason the cards are in such bad condition generally is that it wasn't until 1994 that New Zealanders got card supplies or ever gave a seconds thought to card protection. Apparently basketball cards got popular and it was at that point the desire to protect them came to be.
Like the Monty Gum cards the box had very poor coalition and I got five or six of the same cards a number of times.
If a few grade well it won't be a total loss and it was fun to get to rip such a rare box even though the outcome wasn't as good as I was hoping for.
The take away is that I am thrilled to have some of the other better cards in high grades.

<< <i>I forgot you had this box. What did the packs look like? Sucks about not getting any hogans... >>
They were really flimsy with a huge stick of gum. You can't even peel it off the face of the card.
I was just hoping to be able to complete the set in reasonably good condition.
Thankfully I have a Hogan 9 already from this set.

I pulled all of the better cards and have them in 9 pocket pages under a bunch of books at the moment. Some of the cards are a little warped and hopefully this helps flatten them out.
<< <i>That is Tiny Lester, Jr. (AKA Deebo from Friday or the president from Fifth Element). I never knew he was Zeus. That is a pretty cool card. >>
Me neither!! Just remember him from acting in movies!!
