EBay Bid retraction Mistake

So I've got a Jorge Soler Auto on Ebay that was at 49 dollars. And it has been at 49 dollars for days now. The guy asks for a retraction. I looked at the bidding activity wrong and since I retracted his bid the card dropped to $2.25. Should I have let the auction play out and then relist it if he would have won?

There is a good chance the guy wouldn't have paid or would have gotten the card and returned it.

Probably a good idea just to let him out of his bid.

  • Yeah I was cranky last night when I posted that. I had just got home around midnight and knew I was waking up 5 hours later. I just overreacted. The card is back up to where it was.

    Edit to say thanks!

I know what it's like to have those little or no sleep nights.

Good news on the card though. I HATE bid retractions, but at least this guy was nice enough to ask first.

  • Yeah you are right. I sent him a message stating I was a little upset and he through a tantrum this morning. We talked it out though. I explained I overreacted and apologized. It was the timing of the retraction too. I mean I retracted the bid at midnight mountain time with 17 hours left. I lose what? 6 or 7 hours of good bidding time because everyone is asleep. So that leaves me with less than a day. And I don't how many people have given up on my card who are still watching. Funny thing is...when I retracted the bid. 15 minutes after I sent the message of disappointment to the guy, the card went back up to 50 dollars *&$#!!! I immediately regretted it. hahaha
