I might be driving a car across country for my mother in law. I see a stop in Cincy on the horizon.

Apparently this doesn't take into account the (15) Sugardale Dollar Dog Nights at Cleveland's Progressive Field this season. image

Someone updated the 2013 prices for the Blue Jays and it went up to to like $19.30... so with the Mets being $18.25 the real question is "is $1.05 worth an extra 2 ounces of beer?" and the answer is... it depends on how hot it is outside.

    thats sick!
My friend is moving from chicago to pittsburg and he says its the same price/value . image
How much do you value a dog/beer? Very cool site..

Stay at home, have a case of 18 Miller's and 8 hot dogs for well under $20 and
watch the game for free. No arrests for public intoxication, no DUI charges, no fights
with other drunken fans, etc..... .
  • We should keep this site running and everyone should write prices of hot dogs and beer and there parks and we could see who's sells the cheapest and who's the most expensive. I could tell you right now that 1 hot dog at Marlins Park goes for about $7 and a beer for about $8 or $9 depending on what beer you want.

Arizona might have the cheapest. Can anyone beat that?
  • I can remember back in the 80's I could go to Fenway Park from my home south of Boston, pay for parking, take the T in and out (2x normal fare because of distance travelled), get a bleacher seat, a hot dog and a soda and still have change for some gas - all for $20.

  • thats why I love minor league games. We had an echl team in the chicago suburbs and every Friday would be dollar dogs and beers. Can't beat that.

Those were the days. I lived in Boston back in the 80's when I was going to school. My friends and I would bring Tropicana orange juice cartons into the game that were mixed with vodka and drink screwdrivers. When you're a college student, you learned to be creative. image

In Montreal college students would openly smoke weed in the bleachers... in front of security, beat that.

Went to Marlins Park last season and it wasn't cheap for a beer and hot dog.

I'm not sure if I'm going this year or not. Boooooo...

That's why I like the all-you-can-eat section at Petco. Ticket is $10ish more expensive then the section next door. All the dogs, popcorn, peanuts and soda you can stand.

<< <i>Are dogs really only a buck in Cincy? >>

I remember when Marge Schott was the owner - she said that "no one should pay more than a buck for a hot dog."

How people felt about her - otherwise - is above my pay grade.

Interesting to see that the Chicago White Sox fan opted for one beer, two dogs and some change, when he CLEARLY could've gone with 2 beers and one dog, and been much better off! image

    1x 16oz beer $6.50

    2x hot dog $7.50

    TOTAL
    $14.00

An experienced person at a Texas Rangers game on Wednesday night home games could get 25 hot dogs and a soda for $20. I don't think any park can beat that, major or minor league

All you have to do if you are a season ticket holder or mini plan holder is to go to the season ticket lounge and buy $25 worth of Rangers bucks (for $20 as you get a discount). Then go to fan services and take one minute to sign up to be designated driver for the game (that gets you a voucher for a free drink). Hot dogs are $1 as that's the dollar hot dog night for the Rangers. Use the Rangers bucks to procure 25 hot dogs and use the voucher for a free soda. I don't drink beer so have no idea how much those are.

I do know that Maven and I can both get a miserable stomach ache on Wednesdays for $20 as evidenced many times last year

The Rangers are the best family event and bargain down here if you know how to work their specials

(and if you are not a season ticket holder just hang outside the lounge and someone going in will help you, most people are Texas friendly down here image. )

Hey Mike, are you saying you are NOT a smart Ranger fan? (I know MAVEN is.) Did you not tell us last season that YOU spent TWENTY SIX FRIGGIN DOLLARS on THIS last year? HAHAHAHAHA
(I say this as I drink my 24oz Budweiser purchased from 7-11 FOR $1.90)

LOL. I had to pony up with the big spenders at least once. I'm ready to head out there this year, they have some new nacho concoctions and some new steak offerings that I'm ready to try out. I'm sure I'll have pictures in my thread at some point image

<< <i>Mike ... looks like Maven and you could get a NICE stomach ache on Monday or Tuesday for $34.00! >>

    Doug,

Of course we hit that up a few times last year. When I have tickets there, that's the only time my son wants to go too!! He was in heaven those nights. We'd get there early during BP and eat until they stopped putting out the food in the 7th I think it was. Good times, good company, and at least for the first couple of hours, good food!

Great American Ball Park does have several dollar hot dog stands. Also, sections 408-409-410, down the third base line, are "all you can eat", with Coke products, hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, and potato chips for about $30 (The Reds have gone to "dynamic pricing" this season.). Sit in the club seats, where I work (sections 220-228, second deck, behind home plate) or in sections 301-307 and get two local favorites, LaRosa's pizza and Montgomery Inn pulled pork as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, stir fry, and pasta, as well as ice cream, peanuts, and Coke products. These seats go for about $80 to $95. The Diamond Club has its own restaurant, if you want to spend several hundred dollars per seat.

The price of hot dogs is about right in Milwaukee. I very rarely get a dog or a beer at the park. 16oz bottles from the vendor are 7.25 though.

I generally get Cactus League nachos (7.50) or chicken strips with fries (6.25) if I get anything at the park.

The best value is Miller Park does have Uecker Seats for a buck (about 120 available) each game. The seats are behind the columns that hold up the roof so they're pretty obstructed, but you can almost always find a few seats near that are open. Tickets in general are pretty good, and they do a lot of promotional days. I don't have a family (yet), but when I do I can see how things will add up fast.
